There are so many styles of yoga – to know what you’re gonna get from a tomatutiempo-yoga class the best is to ease into it with your first day free.
After many years of self practice encountering the beauty of yoga, I became really passionate about the yoga styles Vinyasa flow and Yin Yoga.
Since 2019, I have taught Vinyasa yoga. Vinyasa yoga is a movement flow practice and one of the most popular contemporary styles of yoga. Vinyasa in Sanskrit means “to place in a special way” and refers to a practice designed to develop and refine concentration so that it becomes single-pointed and unwavering. Vinyasa does this by placing awareness on the flow of the breath and movement of the body, and sometimes on elements of practice such as the point where one gazes and intention.
each class is different.
There is no set sequence of postures in a vinyasa flow class; each class is different and sequences might be created around a theme that leads to a “peak” posture, or giving a physical emphasis or a philosophical teaching.
different pace. beautiful variety.
Some classes will lead you through a slower, alignment-based class with elements of Yin Yoga where you explore each posture in more depth. Other classes may be more vigorous with fast movement-based postures and sequences. In every case though it is the breath that is the central focus, which is also the anchor around which everything flows.
I will always show you enough variations of Asanas (postures) so you can choose what works best for you. As I believe, not all Asanas are made for every body, but all bodies are absolutely made for yoga.
benefits.
The classes are great for toning, strengthening, lengthening and aligning the body. The fast and dynamic vinyasa flow classes help develop cardiovascular fitness, stamina and endurance, whilst the slow and somatic approaches help to create strength and balance whilst activating the parasympathetic nervous system, also known as the body’s “rest and restore” mode.
much more than a pysical practice.
I also use meditation and mindfulness techniques to aid concentration and improve general mental wellbeing. Vinyasa can be used as a window into our habitual viewpoints, from which we don’t usually see the relationships between external events and our inner world; it can help us break down our sense of separation from others, and reveal the potential of yoga for transformation.
In addition to that, I like to end my yoga classes with a tiny little massage for each of you, usually for the head and neck or your feet, which helps you as well for a better grounding and getting in touch with yourself.
